Much of the concern stems from people reusing soft plastic drinking bottles. Reusing these soft bottles cause the molecules to break down & leach chemicals into the water/fluids you're drinking. Soft bottles are a #1 on the safety code. Have you or do you reuse soft water bottles for drinking? Yes

The safer plastic code choices are: 1, 2, 4 & 5. These tend to be harder plastics that do not break down as easily as the softer plastics. Do you reuse any hard plastic containers to store food in?
