Amazon Best Books of 2024 revealed
Amazon's Best Books of the Year list is here, and what underpins the Top 10 list isn't a type but a topic. Many of them are about hope, and their stories highlight underdogs, unsung heroes and relentless pursuit. But ultimately, the sprawling list (Amazon's full list features 100 titles) has “books for every kind of reader,” says Al Woodworth, senior editor at Amazon Books, with nonfiction picks that romance readers will enjoy and dark thrillers that even the cozy fantasy lover won’t be able to put down. “All of these books make you feel deeply,” Woodworth says. Not using airplane mode on your phone when you fly probably won't cause the plane to crash, but it's still safer if you enable it before takeoff. However, it is more likely that it will just make the pilots' communications with the control tower a little more difficult, and that's not great, either. If you've ever placed your phone near a speaker and then received a text message, you know what it would sound like in their ears. The dit dit dit of signal interference can cause pilots to need controllers to repeat instructions, and in a crowded airport with tight clearances, any confusion can cause delays or worse.
