I enrolled in the welfare to work program. And the rules are, that you must conduct 20 hours of job search per week and apply to 40 jobs per month. Does this sound reasonable?

I am finding that I have to apply for just about anything to get 40, and have started looking in the state above me, to make the minimum. Would you have to do that to?

I have been unemployed since 2004, then self-employed for 10 years, work the election days as a poll clerk, but for the most part still unemployed. I have applied for pet sitting, dishwasher, up to graduate level jobs, only to get rejection emails sometimes within 24 hours of submitting the initial application. Would you get discouraged if you were me?
