The Sixties Scoop is a lawsuit that includes aboriginals who live in Canada & have been apprehended by the Ministry Children of Families between 1958 & 1996. The aboriginals lost their culture & belief in being aboriginal because the foster system kept them from learning where they came from. Have you heard of this before today?

In Ontario today, they have made a decision to put $800 million aside for about 20,000 Aboriginals who have had to live in foster care or adopted out to white families. Every aboriginal that has signed up to the Sixties Scoop will get between $25,000 to $50,000 for compensation depending on how many people sign up. Do you think this is a fair amount? Yes

The Government of Canada is not paying for the abuse the aboriginals went through while in care. They are only paying out what the Government is responsible for, which is the aboriginals being able not to identify with their culture & background. The aboriginals can still file a lawsuit against the Ministry of Children & Families for this. Does this sound right? Yes
