1. Dame Shirley Veronica Bassey is a Welsh singer. Known for her career longevity, powerful voice and recording the theme songs to three James Bond films, the only artist to perform more than one, Bassey is one of the most popular vocalists in Britain. Have you ever heard of Dame Shirley Bassey?

2. In a career spanning over 70 years, Bassey has sold over 140 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling female artists of all time. She is the first woman in history to claim a Top 40 album in seven consecutive decades in the United Kingdom. Her song "Goldfinger" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2008. She has influenced many other singers, including Aretha Franklin. Do you like her rendition of "Something", a song written by the late George Harrison in this video clip?

3. Shirley Bassey was appointed a Dame in 1999 for services to the performing arts. It's been said that she just doesn't sing a song, she acts it out. Also, many songwriters have said that when she sings their song, she makes them sound so much better with her expressive performance. Do you enjoy this song "This Is My Life" (a favorite of mine) with her outstanding performance?

4. This is a great performance of the song "Try A Little Tenderness" and a comedy bit that Dame Shirley Bassey played along with fabulously. Do you think she did marvelously to the surprise comedy bit and maintained her composure despite having her gown cut up?

5. Here is the original recording of "Kiss Me, Honey Honey, Kiss Me" (1958), it was one of her early hits before she became internationally known. A lovely, playful song for lovers and one that I can dance and sing along to. Do you enjoy this wonderful song in early days of Dame Shirley Basset's career?
