Have you ever seen any of the Andy Hardy films?

Andy always sought advice from his father, the admirable Judge Hardy (Lewis Stone). The heart-to-heart talks between father and son were routine scenes in the series. Did you have a parent who worked in law or a related field?

The series was popular in the 1930s but after World War 2 in the mid-40's, interest waned. As Mickey got older, audiences were less convinced of him playing a teenager. Not only that, the movie studio had to constantly cover up Mickey's reputation off-screen to match the wholesome Hardy persona. Have you ever stopped watching a movie or TV program because of a celebrity's behavior?

The series faded away, but MGM brought it back one more time a decade later with "Andy Hardy Comes Home," showing the older Mickey Rooney playing Andy as father and lawyer in hopes of kick-starting a new generation of Hardy films.
