Ron Hamilton was a gospel/Christian music singer, songwriter, leader of a singing group featuring his family and publisher. Though, to my knowledge, he never scared any hits in any contemporary Christian music radio formats, he was well known in more artistically and theologically conservative evangelical Christian circles. Before starting to read this question, had you known of Ron Hamilton?

Even If you only took been a passing glance at the screncap for the video included with the previous question, you should have been able note that Hamiton's wearing an eyepatch. He started sporting that covering after his left eye was diagnosed with cancer and removed. Whether it's one with an elasticized band (I'm assuming) like the one Hamilton wore and/or one applied to the skin surrounding your eye with adhesive, have you ever worn an eyepatch for any reason other than as part of a costume?
Yes (and may wear one currently)

Whether one embraces the faith by which Hamilton lived, I can imagine his unselfconsciousness and ease with which he carried himself could be an inspiration for other similarly visually disabled people to accept themselves as they are. But since Hamilton was a musician and children of his acquaintance started calling him a pirate due to the eye covering he wore that's commonly associated with seafaring bandits of yore, he ran with that. Thus he launched a kids' musical ministry as Patch The Pirate. As Patch, Hamilton recorded many albums and also toured his music. Have you ever turned a physical disability into any kind of asset?

The author of an an online Bible-reading schedule I've been following the past couple years (available at https://biblereadingchallenge.org) will occasionally include songs credited to Hamilton or Patch to emphasize a point made in any given day's reading. It may at first seem odd for an adult author to recommend children's songs for other adults' spiritual edification; but, apart from Hamilton's musical gifts, it makes sense to me since Jesus Christ told those who'd follow Him to come as little children, per Matthew 18:3. Also, parents and their youngsters could be following this schedule, too. Are there any children's music acts you (still) like now that you're an adult?
Yes (and I may name at least one in a comment)

Regardless this survey's title, there is one thing I do find at least a bit weird about Hamilton's Pach persona. Pirates other than Hamilon's alias aren't exactly known for their morally upright, godly behavior., But, there aren't really any other cultural figures known for donning eyepatches either. Can you think of any other instance where someone has transformed a negative cultural figure or template into something positive?
