Working under the alias of The Snake Charmer, Archy Jay is a bagpiper and singer who has musically merged her East Indian heritage with the Scottish lineage of her chosen instrument to create fusion music inspired by disparate regions of the world that many listeners may not think of having much to do with each other. Her work curretnly appears to exist more on the internet than any configuration available to purchase physically. Had you heard of Snake Charmer Archy Jay before starting this survey?

Snake Charmer Jay may cut a striking profile in Scottish tartan garb, but the sound of the instrument she favors bears some sonic resemblance in effect to instruments used in her homeland's classical music; most notably, those would be the stringed tanpura and the harmonium keyboard. Can you hear the similarities between these kinds of music that originatd continents apart from each other"?

Actually, bagpipes' point of origin is close to India than Scotland. In this this informative video--https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZE5eMU7h0E--the narator tells of the instrument's earliiest known appearance being in Egypt around 400 B.C. And the instrument traveled plenty from there to Scotland and far beyond. Were you aware that bagipipes didn't originate in Scotland?

My discovery of The Snake Charmer was actually an affirmation of sorts regarding my knowledge of bagpipes' far flung appeal and history. The one time I saw a performance by the touring Bellydance Superstars troupe, one of the ladies swiveling her midriff was also playing a set of 'pipes. Before this poll, had you associated bellydancing with bagpiping?

My discovery of Jay came when I researched Indian metal band Bloodywood, with whom she has collaborated on one song. (which is apparently unavailable on YouTube, so this question is accompanied by a tune by the 'Charmer featuring B'wood's rapper, Raoul Kerr). Which of the following do you think is strangest?
