Next up in stage musicals, we take a trip on the mighty Mississippi. Based on The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, the Broadway production began 1985. Roger Miller (yes, King of the Road guy) did the music and lyrics, adaptation by William Hauptman. Look out for me, oh muddy water...

The story - for those who made it through school without reading Twain's novel, it concerns Huck Finn, pal of Tom Sawyer. Both have been awarded a large sum of money for help capturing a killer. Huck's dad is a drunkard who feels he should handle the money. Fearing he might be injured or killed, Huck fakes his own death and splits. He meets up with runaway slave Jim, and the pair begin their river journey. Just for the record, have you read the book or seen an adaptation of it?
