"He's dead, Jim" - DeForest Kelley played Dr. 'Bones' McCoy on the original Star Trek series and beyond that. One of his lines was announcing a person or other being dead. Morbid question, but ever been there as someone dies, or just after?

"Live long, and prosper" - the Vulcan salute was created by Leonard Nimoy who played Spock in the original series and beyond. This was based on a blessing gesture Jewish priests use with both hands, thumb to thumb. "Live long and prosper" has it's roots in various places such as ancient Egypt, The Bible, and even Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Are you able to do the salute and ever stated this in some way to a person?

Yes- able to do the gesture and said some version of this.

"Beam us up" - beaming is a way to get people and objects easily from place to place within Star Trek. As far as I know, Captain Kirk never said "Bean me up Scotty", but could be wrong, one for die-hard fans. In any case, do you find beaming an interesting concept or would worry your atoms would get scattered?

Yes- pretty sweet if one could just zap from point A to B.

No - this would freak me out, and the Star Trek series itself has points where it malfunctions.

"I'm a doctor, not a..." - another Dr. McCoy one, he would drop this line when being asked a question he felt should not have been even directed at him since he was a doctor and not a mechanic or whatever else. Anyone here ever worked as a doctor or in the medical profession in some way? (If so, ever use a variation of this line? Feel free to let us know in replies.)

"Set phasers on stun" - phaser weapons used throughout the Star Trek franchise can range from hand held to part of a starship. Oddly, in terms of hand held, I don't recall anyone saying "set phasers on kill", another for hard-core fans. Do you think such devices might be common place at some point in the future?

"Make it so" - Yeah, this was Jean Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) from Star Trek: The Next Generation and beyond, and not the original series. Consider it a teaser for a possible sequel or not. Do you find yourself more a Kirk or Picard fan as far as captains of the Enterprise?
