Results: Playing A Younger You Part 3

When a TV series casts the role of their characters when they were younger, sometimes the resemblance is uncanny. In the Netflix series based on the Kristin Hannah book, FIrefly Lane, the casting of the younger Kate and Sully was spot on. Kate is portrayed by Sarah Chalke, while her younger counterpart is portrayed by Roan Curtis. Sully is played by Katherine Heigl with Ali Skovbye playing her younger counterpart. If you saw this series, do you think the casting was brilliant?

In the show, This Is Us, the three adult children, who along with their parents, were the centerstone of the series. They were brilliantly cast as young children, teens and adults. If you saw the show, do you think the casting department did a great job?

A 1995 film, Now And Then time shifted between adulthood and childhood, with what I remember as spot-on casting for the younger cast. The adults were played by Demi Moore, Rosie O'Donnell, Melanie Griffith and Rita Wilson, with the younger roles played by Gaby Hoffmann, Christina Ricci, Thora Birch and Ashleigh Aston Moore. Probably one of the most baffling casting choices was on the O.C. when the show recast an older actress to play a teen version of an initial character. Willa Holland was cast as a teen Kaitlin Cooper on The O.C., where she replaced Shailene Woodley. The weird thing was she was only supposed to be a year or two older, but looked at least 10 years older. Have you a specific bad casting choice you recall?
