The Prisoner is a BBC show that aired in 1967 and ran for 17 episodes. It follows a guy we know only as "Number Six" (Patrick McGoohan) who apparently was a spy or espionage agent before resigning in a fit of anger. He's abducted and taken to "The Village" where everyone has a number, and tries to escape while resisting giving info why he resigned....

Real? Here's the opening to the Prisoner which plays in some form in most of the episodes. Some feel the show was based on the notion there were/ are places where folk too valuable to kill yet too dangerous to have on the loose due to what they know were taken. Do you think such places did or might still be a thing?

Rover - The ball in the opening credits is called "Rover", in reality a weather balloon. It's job is to retrieve wayward prisoners and creepy in a surreal way considering the original idea was a driverless golf cart. One notion I find fascinating about "The Village" is it's not so bad unless one delves under the surface. If you found yourself in such a place would you try and escape or feel, "hey, I could live here?"

"Who is Number One?" - This question is answered in most every episode opening credits. Without being egotistical about it, do you feel folk need to be 'number one' making their own decisions, or keep 'in formation' for the status quo?
