Results: My Giant Life--TLC's New Reality Show Featuring Women Over 6 Feet 6 Inches

TLC (The Learning Channel) premiered a new show on Tuesday, documenting the lives of four woman, all 6 feet, 6 inches tall or taller. My Giant Life focuses on the four women, and their quest to find love, but also how their height affects their everyday living--mundane tasks like finding clothes that fit, and getting in a car. Do you personally know of any women who are this tall, or even yourself?

One of the women, Lindsay, who is 6'9" and holds the Guinness World Record for Tallest Actress in a Leading Role, has difficulty when she attempts to board a plane on the show. She is forced to carry her suitcase over her shoulder because she is unable to crouch over and roll it down the aisle. 'I feel like just one simple thing such as going to the airport, getting on an airplane, getting off the airplane and going to your next destination is so much more complicated because I am so tall,' she said of her ordeal. 'All I want to do is just put my bags in the overheard bin and just get to my seat because everyone is staring at me when I am standing up in the aisle.' Have you ever seen an extremely tall woman, and if so, what was your reaction?

Many women would love to be tall, but usually they would like to be in the 5'9" to 6' tall range, not over 6'6". However, there have been many famous women who towered over the others. How many of these famous very tall women are you familiar with?

One of the women featured on the show is actually a young teen. Nancy, at 6'9" is only in high school, and trying to navigate the usual things all high school girls do. At the same time, she has to cope with being taller than any boy in her school, and also being a rising basketball superstar. Given how tough it is for teens these days in general, do you think her height will be an advantage or disadvantage?
