Results: Timbiebs Hysteria Hits Tim Hortons!

On Monday, November 29, the Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons launched a limited edition line of Timbits (which are donut holes) with singer Justin Bieber, appropriately named Timbiebs. Not only did the chain launch three flavours of Timbiebs, they also launched a limited edition line of merchandise, including beanies, tote bag and fanny pack, which sold out in record time. This collab seemed to be a marketing dream for the chain, which counts Bieber as one of their big fans. The Timbiebs were available in three new flavours: Chocolate White Fudge, Sour Cream Chocolate Chip and Birthday Cake Waffle. Did you try the Timbiebs?

Of course, TikTok has had a field day (or Bieb day if you will) with the new promotion, referring to them as "Bieber Balls," "Bieber Bits" and other creative names. And, as expected, the sales for all things Bieber went through the roof. In many locations, demand exceeded supply and some fans had to go to several Tim Hortons before they could find the treat. Have you ever tried a restaurant or grocery item because it was endorsed by a singer or actor you like?

If you ordered a 10-pack, they came packed in a custom cardboard box. Resells of the limited-edition merch and Timbits have already cropped up online. And, empty Timbiebs boxes have been seen selling for up to a $950K on Facebook Marketplace, and other resell sites. That's right, completely empty boxes, although some do include some crumbs. Would you ever think an empty donut hole box would have a market, let alone at these prices?
