As the song says, " I like bread and butter." A bit of butter on toast is even better. Do you like toast?

We will never know who first took bread to that next level, but I for one am grateful. Really. Can you imagine the dedication it must have taken searching for the sweet spot that's perfectly browned toast! Standing at the fire toasting bread for the family's Sunday breakfast over an open fire using a toasting fork! Having toasted bread over a campfire increases my appreciation of the two slot Oster on my kitchen counter. How do you toast your bread?

Toast is admirably versatile. One can keep things simple by adding a bit of butter or honey or go all out with cream cheese and sprinkles. Which of these do you like?

Truth be told, I have never tried avocado toast. It's not that I don't like avocados; it's that I can't see paying $8 (the current US average price) when out for breakfast. And while Aldi's has avocados on sale for 49 cents each this week, and Kroger a variety of allegedly artisan breads for under $4... Well, it just seems too much like work for this home cook. If you are part of the Avocado Toast Set, do you...

A friend recently shared her experience making Unicorn Toast with her grandkids. (For the record, Unicorn Toast and Princess Toast seem to be pretty much the same thing, but unicorns are apparently more trendy or inclusive or something.) Picture this: sweetened cream cheese (tinted pink, blue, and purple) artistically swirled on toast and covered in sprinkles. Some recipes include the healthy addition of Marshmallow Fluff. For breakfast. Have you ever made Princess or Unicorn Toast (with or without the excuse of entertaining and feeding the kids)?
