Yes, a comment on a recent survey I wrote inspired this survey. The Cuban Lunch is a true Western Canadian chocolate bar and hasn't been made for almost thirty years. The Cuban Lunch, a confection of dark chocolate and peanuts, was originally manufactured at the Paulin Chambers chocolate factory in Winnipeg. It was a favourite of western Canadians for nearly 70 years before it was pulled from the production line. Have you ever had a Cuban Lunch?

The name Cuban Lunch comes from before World War 1, during the Spanish-American war, when a soldier's rectangular chocolate ration was referred to as a Cuban Lunch. The slang expression caught on, and when the Paulin Company was thinking of a name for their chocolate bar, they decided on this one -- for the Spanish peanuts in the bar. Not sure why they didn't use Spanish Lunch, but for whatever reason, this is where the name came from. Have you ever heard the slang expression "Cuban Lunch" before this?

The candy Skittles got its name from an old variation of bowling. Charles D*ckens' Pickwick Papers (1837) referenced the popular pub game, which was a variant of bowling that never caught on in US—though the candy sure did! Have you ever had Skittles and did you know this is where the name came from?

Legend has it that, Oh Henry! was originally named after an electrician who frequented the Williamson Candy Company, flirting with the girls who made the candy. The name is also said to be a homage to American writer O. Henry, and often mistakenly believed to be named after the famous baseball player Hank Aaron. So many theories, but which ones sounds the most plausible to you...
