A cherry blossom is the flower of any of several trees of genus Prunus, particularly the Japanese cherry, Prunus serrulata, which is called sakura after the Japanese. Japan has three great cherry blossom trees: Miharu Takizakura in Fukushima, Usuzumizakura in Gifu and Jindaizakura in Yamanashi. Usuzumizakura is an ancient cherry tree located in the beautiful mountains of Neo village in Gifu Prefecture. The tree is an Edohigan sakura and is one of Japan's oldest at over 1,500 years old.
