I believe that the most negative form is when someone has unresolved issues from their childhood with a parent and brings this into current relationships. So it can be like an emotional time warp. Smelling perfume on someone else that an abusive parent used can trigger feelings from one's past. Projection would be the anger and transference would be when the emotions are transfered to the person in your present day life. Do you think this has happened to you? Yes

One example, would be when my spouse and I would clean the apartment on the weekend. Any little thing that I said or did that slightly reminded him of his mother caused him to lash out at me. In essence, it was like 6 people being in the marriage; me and my parents, and him and his parents. Do you believe you have experienced this in a relationship? Yes
