Manitoba - Fort Garry Hotel - A historic hotel in Downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba that opened for the first time on December 11, 1913 built by the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. It is located one block from the railway's Union Station, and was the tallest structure in the city when it was completed. Like other Canadian railway hotels, it was constructed in the "chateau style" (also termed the "neo-chateau" or "chateauesque" style), which also reflects the Francois I style of hotel prevalent in the eastern United States at the turn-of-the-20th-century. New Brunswick - Algonquin Resort - Located in the stunningly charming coastal town of St. Andrews by-the-Sea, this New Brunswick icon is one of Canada's most luxurious and spectacular resorts. Rich in history, the original Algonquin hotel was a massive wooden Shingle Style building built in 1889, but today offers the latest in modern amenities. The entire hotel, except for two later wings built in 1908 and 1912, succumbed to a 1914 fire and was destroyed. It was replaced on its same footprint by the present four-story Tudor Revival concrete replacement with a faux half-timbered facade and red slate roof. Have you ever stayed at this hotel?
