Results: Walking fish in danger

The spotted handfish is spotted like a leopard and uses its hands to walk along the seabed while feeding on small invertebrates. It´s about 7 to 10 cm. It was discovered at the bottom of Tasmania's Derwent Estuary. The walking fishes are considered endangered species. A few institutions are trying to keep the population growing but they have to deal with a high mortality rate that doesn´t help at all.
