Charles D***ens did not invent Christmas, but he certainly created perhaps the best-known, most well-developed Christmas scoundrel of modern times, Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge, who put the Bah! in "Bah! Humbug!" has been portrayed by more actors than you can shake actress Sarah Bernhardt's wooden leg at. Which these movie interpretations of Scrooge are you familiar with?

Unlike Scrooge, Mr. Potter, the villain in George Bailey's hometown of Bedford Falls will not undergo a change of heart. Portrayed by the incomparable Lionel Barrymore, the spidery, grasping nature of the greedy banker never wavers- no matter what the season. Have you seen the movie "It's a Wonderful Life?"

He's a mean one, is Mr. Grinch. Dr. Seuss gave us the book "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" in 1957 and Boris Karloff read it to us in the 1966 animated special. Disguised as Santa, the Grinch steals everything from the Christmas roast beast to the tiniest crumb from the little Who mice. He really is a "bad banana with a greasy black peel!" At least until his heart grows three sizes after he learns, with the help of Cindy Lou and the other residents of Whoville, what the spirit of Christmas is all about. The idea that community, kindness, and generosity are more important than presents is- whether you celebrate Christmas or not- an important reminder for kids of all ages. Don't you agree?

In the beloved Christmas classic "Die Hard," the sociopathic terrorist Hans Gruber will send our holiday hero, John McClane, on a quest to re-discover the true meaning of family, love, and holiday togetherness. Played by the inestimable Alan Rickman, Gruber gives the audience the scariest modern villain in any holiday movie, ever. Also, the Best Dressed. Is "Die Hard" on your holiday "must watch" list?

Why the producers and writers of the Santa Clause franchise decided to make Jack Frost a villain is beyond my ken. Traditionally, Jack nips our noses and creates lacy frost patterns on our windows; he doesn't try to do away with Tim Allen's Santa. But, Martin Short's over the top portrayal of Jack certainly deserves an Honorable Mention. Have you ever seen...
