Results: What Number Do You See?

A few weeks ago, a Twitter user posted an image on the social media platform and since then millions of people have weighed in. The post went viral over all social media platforms, and of course, the answers varied wildly. What number do you see (or if you see no number, just say nothing)?

I was one of the few people who apparently saw the correct number, which is 3452839, which is more apparent when you increase the contrast on the image. Some users who guessed correctly said it also helps if you lay your phone screen flat for a clearer view of the numbers. There really is not clear reason why some see a sequence of three numbers, four numbers, five numbers, six numbers or all seven. Some even report they do not see any numbers at all. Did you see the full sequence of seven numbers or something else?

Optical illusions happen when our brain and eyes try to speak to each other in simple language but the interpretation gets a bit mixed-up. The truth is, in many cases, it is still not known exactly how our brain and eyes work together to create these illusions. Do you enjoy optical illusions?
