A chimp named Congo created over 400 paintings and famous artists like Picasso and Salvador Dali were fans of his work. In 1956, zoologist, author and surrealist painter Desmond Morris first observed Congo's abilities when the chimpanzee was offered a pencil and paper at two years of age. By the age of four, Congo was an accomplished artist. He refused to work on art he considered "finished", and if an unfinished piece was taken away before he put his last touches on it, he would scream and throw a fit. His style has been described as "lyrical abstract impressionism". He died, at the age of 10, from tuberculosis. On June 20, 2005, Congo's paintings were included in an auction at Bonhams alongside works by Renoir and Warhol—they sold for more than expected, while Renoir's and Warhol's did not sell. Have you ever taken art lessons, and do you think you were as talented as Congo?

After a bone marrow transplant in 2015, Nevada resident Chris Long, learned that his DNA had changed. He now had two sets, his and his donor's, who lived 5,000 miles away. Long was diagnosed with leukemia is 2014 and received the transplant about a year later. Long works in technology at the Sheriff's Office, and his colleagues asked if they could monitor the changes. In a transplant like this, the medical hope is for the healthy blood to replace the weak blood. With that replacement comes his donor's DNA. However, when they went ahead and started testing more areas like skin, and hair and other fluids, some of the results were unexpected. Long is now a chimera, which is the term for a person with two sets of DNA. His body now has a mixture of two sets of DNA. He has his DNA in most of his body and the DNA of his donor at the same time. Some of his bodily fluids are 100% his donor's. This of course, brings up interesting questions such as "what if his donor committed a crime, and would his DNA implicate him" (techniques would rule that out) or "what if Long has a child, and could the donor DNA be passed on genetically to the child" (Long had a vasectomy which is why his semen is 100% his donor, but also probably won't be an issue for Long given this). Have you ever heard of the term "chimera"?

Samuel Clemens, known more as Mark Twain, once wrote that "when a man loves cats, I am his friend and comrade, without further introduction." Safe to say, Twain loved cats. At one time he owned 19 cats, many with unique names such as Soapy Sal and Sour Mash. So deep was his love of cats, Twain even rented cats for company when he travelled, as he wasn't able to take his own with him on trips. Most of the time, the amount he paid to rent the cats covered expenses for the cats' care for the rest of their lives. Are you a "cat lover"?

Yes, maybe even as much as Twain

The Simpsons creator Matt Groening famously named the main Simpson characters after members of his own family: Groening's younger sisters are named Lisa and Maggie, his mother is named Margaret (aka Marge) and his father's name is Homer. Groening also has an older sister named Patty – the same name as one of Marge's twin sisters in the show. He substituted "Bart", an anagram of "brat", for his own name, and modeled the character after his older brother, Mark. The only character Groening refused to name after his own family was the grandfather, and oddly enough the writers chose Abraham (Abe) -- which just happens to be the name of Groening's grandfather anyway! Are you a fan of The Simpsons?
